THE BALI ADVERTISER 8 OCTOBER 2008

The Beach House… No Shack on the Beach!

“When you book a holiday anywhere for the first time, it’s always hard to know what type of accommodation to choose. Places can look great on a website or in a glossy brochure, but you never really know what it’s like until you arrive. Some places can be nasty shocks, while others are pleasant surprises.

Bearing this in mind, it’s no surprise that The Beach House on Gili Trawangan has been doing so well over the past few years. The resort offers a range of accommodation, from two simple but funky “Tree Houses”, to a stunning four bedroom villa with private swimming pool, and a range of comfortable rooms and villas in between.

The location plays a big part in this resort’s success – being situated right on the beachfront of one of Lombok’s most beautiful and happening islands. The main development, and the part of the island with the biggest variety of restaurants and bars, is known as “Sentral” on Gili T’s southeast coast. The Beach House is situated right in the middle of Sentral, making it the ideal base for exploring the many bars, restaurants and activities concentrated in this popular area…”

“We stayed in this hotel 4 nights and had a great time there……..The hotel has a small but well designed fresh water swimming pool and restaurant. The restaurant served really good dining service and food – their seafood bbq was really good. I think it is the best restaurant on the island!”

Letter from Lombok – Siti Zainab

“Fun times and good food is what The Beach House is all about, and celebrating the festive season at this beachside restaurant is always a great choice. Traditional Australian Christmas fare is on offer on Christmas Day with freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters, Norwegian smoked salmon and the ubiquitous “shrimp on the Barbie”. Followed by honey-glazed ham and roast turkey with all the yummy trimmings, this is a feast not to be missed! As with all things Aussie, there’ll lots of champers, wine and ice cold beer to go along with it all. Afterwards, escape gravity and float in their newly completed beachfront swimming pool.”

“…Embedding ourselves into our beloved 2 x 4km coral island, we chose The Beach House’s 4 bedroom Villa that, uniquely to GiliT, is gratefully dominated by a freshwater pool, a flat screen TV, two spacious living areas, an open kitchen and four large bedrooms…”

“…So back to GiliT and a dip in the pool. Bliss. Then on with the glad rags for a monster lobster dinner at The Beach House seafront eatery.”

Give me a T – Sarah Dougherty

“…The Beach House is raising the style stakes, adding a little Ozzie flavour to the place, with an Oceanside restaurant and bar that has really decent food at pre-2000 prices. The accommodation is classic, contemporary, clean and air-conditioned. They even have satellite TV thanks to that strange tower on the hill. The owners have taken this tired old hotel and given it a simple but gorgeous face lift, including the islands’ first luxury rental Villa. 4 bedrooms with a private sweet water pool……White sand, aquamarine water, gorgeous weather, good food, outdoor sports………and no hassles……….kids love it, adults love it, what’s not to love…”
